Overview of the year
lambrogio and lambrogino win compasso d’oro award
June
Makio Hasuike has designed two cargo bikes for Repower that are exciting in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.
Repower won the 27th edition of the Compasso d’Oro, the world’s most prestigious design prize, with its LAMBROgio and LAMBROgino electric cargo bikes. The LAMBRO product family, designed by Makio Hasuike, is a sustainable option for fast deliveries and transporting guests, luggage, materials, equipment and general goods. Thanks to their electric drive train, the two Cargobikes are the perfect emission-free means of transport for short and medium distances; whether in urban environments or on sprawling private sites such as resorts, campsites, coastal facilities and exhibition grounds. The GIOTTO wallbox charger, also a Hasuike creation, received an honourable mention in the same award.
The Compasso d’Oro is awarded on the basis of a pre-selection made by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory (ADI is the Association for Industrial Design). The Design Observatory consists of a commission of experts including designers, art critics, historians, trade journalists, members of the ADI and external parties, who gather information each year and select and judge the best products. Repower already won the Compasso d’Oro once in 2020, that time with the E-LOUNGE.
“This is renewed recognition of the sustainable mobility solutions that Repower has been developing for more than ten years”
Ambrogio Cassini, head of the LAMBRO project: “The Compasso d’Oro awarded to the LAMBRO product family and the honourable mention for the GIOTTO wallbox is renewed recognition of the sustainable mobility solutions that Repower has been developing for more than ten years. The design and technology pave the way for the mobility of the future. Hasuike’s studio has managed to interpret both facets in the best possible way.”
