On 30 January 2023, PostBus converts four routes between Chur and Bad Ragaz to electric operation for the first time. Repower’s e-mobility provider PLUG’N ROLL is responsible for the charging infrastructure along the routes. The electric postal buses are charged with VERDEPOWER GRISCHUN electricity from Repower at Untervaz-Trimmis and Landquart railway stations and at the PostBus depots. VERDEPOWER GRISCHUN is power from certified and renewable resources in Graubünden.

For Repower project manager Robert Pleisch, the key to success is the broad expertise of the partners. “Repower has 100 years of experience in electrification. Together with PLUG’N ROLL, we were able to successfully draw on this expertise for PostBus’s scheduled services in Graubünden.”

To make the charging process as quick and uncomplicated as possible, PLUG’N ROLL installs two pantographs at the railway station in Untervaz-Trimmis. These are lowered onto the e-postal buses from above and charge them rapidly: more than half the battery of an articulated electric bus is charged after just 20 minutes. The buses are charged for an output of up to 300 kW.
